Lists in Crelate - Making them Functional

Hey Crelate! We’ve been users for about a year now, and have enjoyed so much about the system, and seen so many great updates. One area that remains a struggle is the lack of functionality of lists. I would think that, for most firms, a good, sortable, static “list” of either companies, contacts, or opportunities would be the backbone of their search efforts, but I have seen multiple different feedback submissions (see links below with 51 upvotes between them), none of which seem to have made it onto the roadmap.

I’d break down my concern with lists into 2 primary areas:

1. Ease of Sharing / Organizing Lists for Collaboration: Lists can only be created by individuals and then shared with either the entire team, or no one, cluttering the team’s view. A more robust way of sharing and/or organizing lists would be a big help. For example, wouldn’t it make sense to have access to “My Lists” and then a separate “Shared Lists” where you could search based on tags or categories that we could create? This would make collaboration on list building so much easier and effective. I would add that while I’m thinking of lists here, the same applies to saved queries. recruiters / teams could easily have dozens of lists and/or saved queries depending on position, geography, etc.

2. Column Sortability & Flexibility: List should be more sortable. I understand we can sort by pulling up the list via the search function. But that just overcomplicates the process, and leads to issues of its own (adding and removing from a specific list from the search view is very clunky, and is impossible to do from search in bulk). For users less comfortable in the platform, needing to create a list, and then add a custom search filter to pull in that list is a major barrier. Having to pull a list into search to gain flexibility in sorting feels like a tacit admission that lists just aren’t functional enough. The key columns I see that should be sortable would include Current Position and Company. Then I would also think there should be the option of breaking addresses down by city and state with the ability to sort each of those columns. Currently, the only available option is the full address and that is not sortable. We really don’t need to have their street address in a list format like this anyways.

I know that saved queries are another option for honing in on a group of contacts, but lists serve different functions, and I would love for them to be more robust!
